Abstract
Purpose:The number of patients with Loffler¡¯s syndrome diagnosed following general health evaluation has recently been increased. Little is known, however, about their clinical courses. This study was performed to evaluate the symptoms and clinical courses, including change of nodules on chest computed tomography and peripheral blood eosinophilia.

Materials and Methods : Seventeen patients with Loffler¡¯s syndrome were enrolled. Their symptom, characteristics of pulmonary nodules, pulmonary function and peripheral eosinophilia were evaluated and followed-up for their changes.

Results: All the 17 patients were male, and their mean age was 43 ¡¾ 13 year. Three (17.6%) patients had cough and 14 (82.4%) patients had no symptom. Most patients had normal spirometry. No patient showed helmith ova in the stool at the time of diagnosis. Eleven (64.7%) patients had pulmonary nodules more than 4 and there was no predilection site of pulmonary nodules. Most nodules had ground-glass opacities. Mean peripheral blood eosinophil proportion was 22.3 ¡¾ 11.1% of white blood cells. Mean period required for the pulmonary nodules to change on the computed tomography was 3.5 ¡¾ 4.1 months. Most patients were prescribed to take anti-helminthic agents and improved.

Conclusion: Most patients with Loffler¡¯s syndrome had no symptom, and had 4 or more pulmonary nodules. The pulmonary nodules changed in the mean 3.5 months. Most patients improved with anti-helminthic agents.
